Feminism (Theory)

Feminism is a broad term to refer to a perspective (and a movement) that recognises and opposes patriarchy (the male dominance of society) and that argues for the rights of women. There are a range of different types of feminist, all of whom have different approaches to the issue. This is also sometimes discussed in terms of four or five different feminist "waves". See liberal feminism; radical feminism; Marxist feminism; difference feminism; black feminism.
