A-Level Business & BTEC Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Bedford School is seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Teacher of Business to join our dynamic Upper School Economics and Business Department from September 2025, to provide maternity cover on a full-time, fixed-term basis for two terms. The successful candidate will be a passionate educator with proven expertise in delivering A-Level Business and Level 3 BTEC Business and or Enterprise and Entrepreneurship. The ability to teach A-Level Economics would be an advantage. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of the most popular departments in our thriving independent boys’ school, where academic excellence and entrepreneurial spirit are central to our educational vision. Reporting to the Lead Teacher of Business, you will:Deliver engaging and academically rigorous lessons in Business.Teach across A-Level and BTEC courses.Contribute to curriculum development and co-curricular activities.Monitor student progress and maintain high expectations for learning and achievement.Be an active member of the school community, including involvement in our extensive games and activities programme, and serve as a tutor within one of our houses. We are looking for someone who demonstrates:A strong academic background in Business or a related discipline (degree level).Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.Successful experience teaching A-Level Business and BTEC Business courses.Outstanding classroom practice with excellent communication and organisational skills.A genuine passion for Business education and a desire to inspire entrepreneurial thinking.A collaborative, flexible and committed approach to teaching and wider school life.Experience teaching A-Level Economics and/or an ability to coach a major school sport would be welcomed but are not essential. Full-time teachers at Bedford are also expected to play a full part in the extensive co-curricular programme and be a Tutor attached to a boarding or day house.
