Here is a fascinating article from The Guardian about a female-only commune in Syria.

Jinwar is a female-only community that is located in the north-east of the country, where the women can live ‘free from the constraints of the oppressive power structures of patriarchy and capitalism’.

The article could be used within the Theory and Methods unit when discussing feminism and ideology.
