This short video from The Economist from two years ago (International Women's Day) follows the story of Rushanara Ali, a Labour MP from London.

Rushanara Ali was elected to parliament in 2010 and was one of only three female Muslim MPs at the time. To put this figure into perspective, after the 2019 General Election there were 650 MPs in total with 65 MPs who from an ethnic minority.

This video could be used for the Theory and Methods unit (feminism).
