Teach First has launched a campaign called STEMinism, the aim of which is to close the gender gap in science and maths careers and provide more role models for girls at school.

Teach First say that there are currently no females included in the national curriculum, and only a couple of female scientists are included in the major exam boards.

This article includes the details of seven British women who have made pioneering scientific discoveries.

This article could be used for Education (gender, links to national curriculum) and Theory and Methods (feminism).
