Charlie's Bar and the Power of Viral Marketing

28th November 2023
Major retailers like Marks and Spencer and John Lewis spend millions on lavish Christmas advertising. But this year, they have been significantly outperformed by an emotionally impactful advertisement from Charlies Bar in Enniskillen. Have you seen it? The overall cost of filming and editing was less than a thousand pounds but the video has now been seen by tens of millions as it has gone viral. Concluding the ad with a quote from Yeats added immeasurably to the effect. “There Are No Strangers Here; Only Friends You Haven’t Yet Met.” It is a great example of the unpredictable, non-linear world of marketing.
