Divorce is the legal dissolution of a marriage whereby a couple are no longer legally bound to one another. As a result of the Divorce Reform Act 1969 has enabled for divorces to become easier and more accessible for individuals. Therefore, the overall divorce rate rapidly increased since the introduction of the divorce reform act. In 2015 there was a total of 130,473 couples that divorced in the United Kingdom.
