Is 'veganism' a religion?

This question is partly being addressed in a recent discrimination case where a man is challenging his previous employer's reason for his dismissal.

The Equality Act 2010 allows protection for people under such areas of sex, ethnicity, and 'religion or belief'.

This article could raise an interesting discussion within the Beliefs in Society unit.
