In this updated video we look at whether the UK economy can realistically reach a state of full-employment?
Unemployment is at a 45-year low and the employment rate is also at a historic high of 76% of the population of working age. There are grounds for optimism not least if the Phillips Curve has flattened. But digging beneath the surface reveals some structural issues in the labour market that challenge the idea of full-employment as a realistic policy aim.
