Brewdog is a good example to use of a business that approaches corporate social responsibility in a purposeful and often dynamic and innovative way.
Established in 2007, the independent brewing company Brewdog has built a solid reputation for a strong commitment to corporate social responsibility that has the bonus of helping to bringing their brand regularly into the public eye.
What is corporate social responsibility?
- The extent to which a business addresses the concerns and obligations to its wider stakeholders
- The actions a business takes over and above the minimum required by law in addressing societal needs and wants
Examples of corporate social responsibility at Brewdog
- Brewdog is a Living Wage employer that shares 10% of profits evenly with all team members every year.
- Business is planting a dedicated tree for each of their 148,592 Equity Punks at the newly-established Brewdog Forest.
- Their Street Dog project to raise funds for animal charities
- Aim to become a carbon-negative beer manufacturer
- Brewery in Scotland runs on wind power
- Business pivoted to manufacturing hand sanitizer for the NHS during the coronavirus pandemic
