Anthropologist at the LSE, Jason Hickel argues in this two minute piece for Newsnight that we need to overcome our addiction to GDP.

He makes the case for using the Genuine Progress Indicator (GPI) as a better metric for sustainable and inclusive growth than narrower measures of national income and output.
