In our new study video we look at some of the reasons why the UK retailer Tesco makes consistently high profits.

Tesco was founded in 1919 by Jack Cohen as a market stall in London. It started as a single store in Hackney, East London, but expanded rapidly in the 1920s and 1930s and has risen to prominence as the largest food retailer in the UK. So why is Tesco so profitable? As always, a range of long-term business and economics factors are at work.
