China's carbon trading scheme set to accelerate demise of coal

China has introduced a carbon trading scheme, and as a result, it seems that coal-fired power generation is going to be phased out. This is likely to create a national market for carbon and an effective carbon price that starts to incentivise reductions in the levels of carbon being produced
