The CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg has faced a panel from the US House of Representatives who have questioned how the site protects user data.

The hearing is as a response to recent events where it transpired that the external company, Cambridge Analytica, had taken user information from Facebook without the user’s knowledge.

The hearing is significant in a number of ways, but in in the context for the Media unit, this article could help form a discussion about the use of peoples’ data on social media and also about the global links between information sharing.
