The Gender Pay Gap (2)
10th April 2018
Taking a satirical look at serious issues in society and politics, here the ‘journalist’ Jonathan Pie interviews a feminist about her views on the gender pay gap.
Following on from the post yesterday that explored the failure by many British companies to report their findings on the gender pay gap, this interview examines how the media reports gender pay differences between men and women.
Some interesting and thought-provoking ideas emerge about how the media sometimes fails to acknowledge the different roles that men and women have in the workplace (i.e., part-time, flexible working and so on), and the impact of workplace discrimination.
A useful video to explore a number of aspects within sociology; including feminism, sexism and also in the influence of the media.
The video does contain strong language.
