The Influence of Facebook

Following on from the post yesterday about the recent hearing by the US Congress and the Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, the following video explores just how powerful social media networks like Facebook have become.

This video examines the ‘network effect’. This is idea that the more people join a particular network, the more essential it becomes to different areas of a person's life, it becomes harder to leave.

The second video is from the New York Times and covers how Facebook tracks an individual’s data.

This could be a useful video for the Media unit.
