A BBC report has investigated what is seen as the national crisis of homelessness amongst young people. With young men more likely to be affected by homelessness than women, the report found that a number of people are turning to friends and acquaintances instead of family for temporary accommodation such as staying on sofas.

This article and subsequent discussion could be used to explore the cycle of deprivation and its effects on society.
