Modern Families and Social Inequality

Sarah Best

28th November 2019

This video from The Economist explores how modern families with two working adults are richer than a single wage-earner.

The result of this is that there is an increasingly financial inequality between families. The video also highlights how as women have better access to work and family planning, families are shrinking.

A great video for use in the Family and Households unit (family structure, diversity, ethnicity and social class amongst others as well as the Education unit).

This video does contain some scenes that may distress some viewers (domestic violence).
