Can we ever be equal? Should we be equal? These core debates are explored through both conflict and consensus theories in Sociology.

This short Ted Talk discusses what equality means and identifies the challenges embedded in society, such as power, gender, class and colonialism, which reduce the chances of equality.

The video could be useful as a starter for lessons in Theories and Methods, Stratification, Culture and Identity or Work, Poverty & Welfare.
