The following article explores the issue of suicide rates amongst women in Guyana, a country in northern mainland of South America.

Some of the explanations for this relate to alcoholism, lack of awareness of mental health issues and poverty.

This article could be useful for Theory and Methods (functionalism/interactionism) and Crime and Deviance.
