His Best Friend Was Killed By the Police. Now He's Running for Office

In this video from The New York Times, activist John Thompson whose friend was murdered by a police officer discusses his reasons for running for office.

In the four years that have passed since Philando Castile died, Thompson has been helping to raise awareness of institutional racism and is now running for the senate in Minnesota.

This video could be used for the Crime and Deviance unit.
