How long does a person remain as Prime Minister? Play the 'Longer or Shorter' Game

Jonny Clark

28th August 2017

A Level Politics students are expected to know some of the basic facts about British politics so here's a fun activity that tests knowledge of how long modern PM's were in office.

There is, of course, no limit to how long a person can serve as Prime Minister for the UK.  The length of service seems to be determined much more by the ongoing events of the time.

David Cameron lasted for just over 6 years until he resigned following the EU membership referendum in 2017. Faced with the names of some of his predecessors, can you work out whether each individual was in office for a longer or shorter period than Cameron?
