Example Essay: discuss the extent to which UK constitutional reforms introduced from 1997 have been important

Ruth Tarrant

4th May 2016

The UK is rare in having an uncodified constitution, which stems from a number of sources including statute law and conventions. 1997 marked a turning point in British politics with the election of the first Labour government in nearly 2 decades, and provided a chance for Tony Blair to make some fundamental reforms to the UK’s political system, including the UK’s ancient constitution which needed modernisation.
