Why Amazon still needs humans in the robot age

11th November 2022
Amazon is one of the modern economy's great innovators, and in this article from BBC news the rise of robots in its warehouses is highlighted - although the company is coy about the effects of automation on its cost structures.
However, look at some of the numbers - the number of packages handled by robots is "likely to hit 100%, or just about, in the next five years" and it hopes to be delivering 500 million packages per year by drone by 2030.
That said, the company, no doubt with an eye on its brand image, says it is always going to need humans.
