Social housing - barriers to building sustainable housing at scale

This Guardian piece looks at one of the major ongoing issues in the UK, the shortage of affordable housing. And yet, as the author points out, in the aftermath of the Second World War, when the political will was there, we were well able to build enough.
So what has changed? The political will for a start, but John Broughton argues that greener social housing projects can, and are, being built. The problem is that we, currently, do just not have enough of them.
