Retirement boom creates economic headache

The impact of more people opting for economic inactivity has implications for the economy as a whole as well as firms in specific locations. In this case, this Guardian piece looks at the area around Kidderminster, and notes there's been a sizeable leap in the number of people who have taken early retirement, and at the same time local firms are struggling to recruit workers.
