Piketty on whether coronavirus might lead to fairer societies

The Guardian carries an interview with Thomas Piketty about prospects for lower levels of inequality in the aftermath of the pandemic.

A short quote here

"It always takes major social and political mobilisation to move societies in the direction of equality."

He is optimistic that it is likely to create opportunities to move in this direction - however, will the reality match this?
