JRF launches new Minimum Income Standard

3rd July 2018
What do the public think people need to earn to reach acceptable living standards? The Joseph Rowntree Foundation has launched their new minimum income standard and find that minimum household budgets have risen by about a third since 2008 for most household types, and a half for pensioners, compared to a 25% rise in the Consumer Prices Index.
The report arrives at an opportune moment as concerns deepen about the extent of in-work poverty in the UK and worries over the impact of Universal Credit.
