The Economist reports here on ambitious plans to overhaul the Indonesia's backward infrastructure - inefficiencies hamper growth prospects. This news video is an excellent contextual example of the importance of infrastructure to a country's competitiveness. Many of Indonesia's ports at the moment cannot handle container ships - containerisation of course has become synonymous with globalisation
