A very interesting post from Professor Simon Wren-Lewis of Oxford University discussing aspects of how data such as real growth per capita, government debt levels and employment rates could be covered more intelligently by economics and financial journalists at the BBC. For example the need to express debt levels as a share of national output or as a percentage of income rather than the "media friendly" but faintly pointless debt clocks that often appear on screens!
