Competition heats in contestable Spanish telecoms industry
15th June 2020
Here is an excellent FT for Schools article on the current state of the Spanish telecoms market.
It looks at consolidation and increased concentration in the sector as the market has shrunk in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the article:
"Spain has become arguably the most competitive market in Europe over the past year as price competition, driven by a plethora of low-cost brands owned by the country’s four biggest operators, has picked up"
The associated questions are also well worth 20 minutes of your in applying basic knowledge about competitive markets, concentration and the role of the regulator. Top stuff!
