The Telegraph looks at the expansion of China's Belt and Road policy and its acquisition of stakes in ports across the globe, and the implications of this for the global economy.

Is it malign? The Western media often depicts it as such, but isn't this hypocritical, given our colonial past? China has the capacity to build infrastructure in a fashion that the West isn't: so aren't we simply jealous.
