Brazil falls deeper into recession

Wow upon woe for the troubled Brazilian economy. There is an oft-repeated quote that "Brazil is the country of the future and always will be" and it seems that the huge losses sustained by the beleaguered oil and gas giant Petrobras are symptomatic of the problems facing a country whose recent growth was sustained by surging revenues from the commodity boom. The BBC reports here on the latest round of bad news for Brazil as the country's debt is given junk-bond status by the credit ratings agencies.
