Hair Removal Entrepreneurs

9th January 2018
I’ve always though waxing was a bit of a rip-off. But, apparently I’m in the minority. Waxing is big business!
Before you tear a strip off me, watch the short BBC Business video below.
The video features the two entrepreneurs behind Strip Waxing - which was the UK’s first waxing bar. The two sisters who started the business - Danielle and Maria-Louise - explain how they have differentiated their service, including the sourcing of a wax that is different from traditional methods.
The concept of franchising is also discussed, and why it was rejected by the business.
With the global market for female hair removal estimated at around $11bn and a fast-growing male grooming segment ("manscaping") worth a further $4bn, this is a growth market. Definitely not a case of hair today, gone tomorrow...
