Young carers' mental health 'deteriorating' in lockdown, says charity
28th January 2021
This article highlights the issues facing young carers in the UK.
It is reported that there are over 7500 young carers in Wales alone, but this figure is believed to be higher. Young carers in many cases look after one of their parents, and in some cases one of their siblings. Carers Trust Wales argue that more support is needed for families and young carers in particular due to the increased isolation as a result of the lockdown.
