Nepalis protest 'ridiculous' proposed ban on women travelling abroad

The Nepalese government has proposed a law that would ban women from travelling abroad without permission from their families and local government officials.
The government has suggested that the law would reduce people trafficking, and would only target 'vulnerable' women who may seek work outside of Nepal. However, critics have said that the law is regressive and does not empower women.
