Sarah Best

21st February 2018

The following article examines some of the issues faced by young people in Bradford.

Over 30% of the population of Bradford are under the age of 20 and it also has the title of the UK's youngest city. However, police statistics show that the city also has some of the highest crime rates in the UK and also the highest levels of youth unemployment (in 2015, this was 26%).

The article follows the stories of a number of young people living the city and also highlights some of the council's plans to re-generate the city centre.

This article could be useful for the Work, Poverty and Welfare, Crime and Deviance, Families and Households and Global Development units
