Mutualism (Anarchism)

An economic system, based on the ideas of Pierre-Joseph Proudhon, designed to replace the capitalist system. Under mutualism, self-governing producers (either individually or in independent associations) exchange goods and services on a fair and equitable basis, thereby removing profiteering and exploitation. These arrangements also permit small-scale property ownership based on possession or use.
