Recall petition unseats Tory MP in Brecon and Radnorshire

There will be a by-election in the Brecon and Radnorshire constituency after a successful petition to recall current Tory MP Chris Davies. This follows on from the successful recall vote in Peterborough.

19% of the electorate signed the Brecon & Radnor recall petition - so the MP loses his seat and there will be a by-election.
The recall petition on Chris Davies, Brecon & Radnor MP followed a conviction for expenses fraud.
The 2015 Recall of MPs Act sets out the circumstances in which the Speaker of the House of Commons can trigger the recall process including a custodial prison sentence of a year or less and a conviction for providing false or misleading expenses claims. More details here
