Prospect of a new UK political party

Can he be serious? Janan Ganesh from the Financial Times has been thinking about the prospect of a new political party emerging from the uncertainties and divisions of the Brexit shenanigans.

Ganash muses that previously significant figures such as Osborne, Blair and Clegg might be approached as standard bearers for an putative political party. Naturally there are numerous barriers for a new party to get off the ground, notably the first past the post electoral system.
