A pupil remarked to me the other day, that the race to the White House is a 'little over the top'. They are of course right, too many in the UK, when comparing the race to the our own, are rightly confused or see at a 'little over the top'. The entire concept of primaries, caucuses, nominating conventions and delegates is entirely alien in our system of selection meetings and parliamentary elections. Where our election process is over in 6 weeks, America's is over in 10 months. The BBC have produced this useful video that explains how the become the Nominee.
