Elections to the House of Lords? You must be kidding!

I kid you not loyal blog readers, yesterday saw an election take place to elect a member of the House Lords. Now I can assure you that I have not gone mad and live in a world whereby the House of Lords is now the Senate of Regions and elected under PR, but an election has happened none the less.
