The Financial Times looks at the economics of the Creator Economy - a sector valued at some $250bn by Goldman Sachs. To what extent is the industry becoming monopolised by a small handful of suppliers? And who makes money from it? An interesting and revealing short video!

The creator economy refers to a new business model that is based on the creation and monetization of digital content. It involves individuals or small teams creating and distributing digital content, such as videos, podcasts, blogs, and other forms of online media, and monetizing that content through a variety of methods, including advertising, sponsorships, subscriptions, and other forms of direct monetization. The creator economy has been fueled by the rise of social media and other online platforms that make it easy for creators to share their content and reach large audiences. This model has allowed creators to build personal brands and businesses, often without the need for traditional intermediaries, like publishers or advertisers.
