South Korea once again comes top of the rankings with an average connection speed of 26.3 Mbps with the USA in second place. No other country comes remotely close. And as for the UK? We seem to be continually behind the curve with average broadband speeds and lack of connectivity a particular problem and barrier to doing business in many rural areas. Our average internet speed is barely a half of that in South Korea, little wonder that we languish in 20th place.
This is one of the key supply-side weaknesses in the British economy.
