The joy of the big revamped railway station
12th October 2015
I like Gwyn Topham's articles - a broad overview of developments in rail transport - and this is no exception. The article looks at the raft of revamps of once-decrepit railways stations and the transformations that the can effect on the local economy - a lovely example of a multiplier effect, with the possibility of positive externalities thrown in for good measure. Does the opening of a Waitrose on a station concourse automatically gentrify it?
