Penguin Scraps Merger Plan with Rival Publisher

The merger between Penguin Random House and Simon & Schuster has collapsed with the former withdrawing from the deal after US courts had blocked the deal.
And it's very much in line with the current thrust of US competition policy, with the Biden administration seemingly taking a greater interest in promoting competition and stopping industries becoming overly concentrated.
