Maths for Economists - Recommended Resources

Geoff Riley

6th July 2023

Here are some resources for teachers and students wanting to boost their confidence in handling mathematics when studying economics!

Our thanks to Ruth Tarrant for providing this super selection:

Maths for Economics by Geoff Renshaw - superb...it's a textbook but with detailed explanations and examples and links to real life use.

Google "Oxford Economics Maths Workbook" - you should be able to find PDF copies online. It'll give students a guide as to the kinds of things they need to be able to do.

CORE Economics - search for the "Leibnizes" - these are the additional maths connections to tie in with their free 'The Economy' resources.

Marginal Revolution University have 3 free online courses that might also be interesting: Money Skills, Understanding Data, and Mastering Econometrics
