“How to Run–or Ruin–an Economy" by Tim Harford 28th November 2013
This year the Royal Economic Society is inviting school groups across the UK to participate in its 2013 Annual Public Lecture even if they can't get to the Royal Institution for the lecture on 28th November. The lectures held in London and a regional venue (Sheffield this year) are always fully booked within weeks. For the first time the RES is widening its outreach of these popular public lectures by broadcasting the lecture live at 5pm on 28th November in HD video and encouraging participation and interactivity through a site dedicated to the topics around the lecture. To take part you will simply need a good internet connection and a projector / large plasma screen connected to a laptop / computer which has a modern browser installed. To watch as a classroom group on a large display it will be possible for you to full screen the video with, ideally, a separate projector to display all the live incoming commentary, so that your class can participate in the Q&A session. Full technical details are provided on the site.
Access is entirely free. Simply create an account on the registration page here or sign in.
