EU approves overhaul of emissions trading

The EU's cap and trade scheme has been widely criticised as being ineffective in creating sustainable incentives for industries to invest in low carbon technologies. The EU Parliament has narrowly voted to approve reforms to the scheme in a bid to increase the carbon price and change behaviour.
