Development Economics via Marginal Revolution University

30th September 2013
For the last lesson before the weekend my Year 13 development economists selected four people who have made an important contribution to key growth and development issues over the years – we made use of Tyler Cowen and Alex Tarrabok’s Marginal Revolution University (MRU) website which is full of short videos covering all kinds of development topics
http://mruniversity.com/
In a 40 minute lesson one can easily cover four economists – students making notes on their key papers / views and then linking to contextual examples in the news at the moment
We chose
- Joseph Schumpeter
- Jeffrey Sachs
- Daron Acemoglu
- Elinor Ostrom
MRU is a resource well worth using perhaps as a flipped classroom activity
Joseph Schumpeter
Jeffrey Sachs
Daron Acemoglu
Elinor Ostrom
